Changes / Cherry Chocolate

It seems that every time I make a transition in my career I change my hair color so I am giving it another go. I am forgoing my trademark pink hair for...burgundy.
Bye Bye Beautiful Pink...
It's my transition color until the length grows another foot and I dye it black like Bettie.
I loved my pink hair and sure, I miss it already but I want to bring the life back to my hair. When roots grew out they grew fast and dark which meant dying it all over again. Even though I was stretching the color with my homemade tinted conditioner it wasn't doing anything nice to my hair.
I wasn't bleaching it outright per se BUT the color that I used was for dark hair and did lift my natural color. This has left my hair a bit damaged at the ends but I have been working hard to begin remedying this. I cut a good inch off the ends and I have began being more religious about applying my coconut oil, especially since I read a handful of articles about the molecular structure of coconut oil; it is the only oil that will actually penetrate the hair shaft rather than just sitting on it.
Anyways here is part one of the newer and slightly more adult Courtney:
I love how deep this color is. I didn't want to alter the photograph but in person this color looks more black / black cherry / black and purple in the sun. It makes my skin look pale which for me is a good thing. I'm not big on tanned skin. I think this leaves the perfect canvas and frame for some awesome makeup.
I hope that I stick to my word and actually let go of the pink for a while.
Also, pardon the pajama top...it's my day off!

i adore it, but the most important thing is that you like it. i find there's something special & transitional, about a new haircut, or hair color change. :)

I like the burgundy, it looks great.
And congrats on the new job! Is Claire's based in Chicago? That's really fun.
Can't wait to hear about it,
Mel
